catt center for women and politics
In the news on the political
front.
Hardly a week goes by that
a member of the media doesn't call Dianne Bystrom. Dianne's name is on the Rolodexes
of numerous political reporters, both in Iowa and throughout the nation. Their
inquiries could be about a variety of issues, although Dianne's own research
focuses on the role of women in politics on both the local and national levels.
"I continue my active research on these issues because it helps inform
my role as the director of the Catt Center. When I'm contacted by the media,
the more fully informed I am on these issues the better I can represent the
Catt Center."
Dianne is the co-author, co-editor and contributor to 11 books including 2004's
Gender and Candidate Communication. She is currently focusing on styles
and strategies used by women and men political candidates in television advertising,
Web sites and speeches as well as the coverage of women candidates and political
leaders by the media.
