political science, 1998 Running campaign after campaign after campaign. Every time Gentry Collins turns around he's involved in another political campaign for the Republican Party. At Ames High School and Iowa State he was active in local, state and national politics. After graduating, Gentry ran for the Iowa House and then just four years out of college ran Doug Gross' statewide gubernatorial campaign. In 2004, he helped President Bush to an electoral victory in Iowa, which helped position him for a job as the political director for the Republican Governors Association. These days he's helping coordinate the presidential aspirations of Mitt Romney in Iowa. "I'm been very fortunate to have a number of opportunities in politics very quickly," Gentry says. "I had some doubts if I could succeed however. But at the end of the day this is not rocket science. It's just plain hard work." |
