"I like working with my hands."

Erik Otarola-Castillo says it is important for him and other archaeologists to get down and dirty. "Being there when we are excavating a site allows me some nuances on how the data was collected that I wouldn’t have if I was just working on the data in the lab." Erik was part of a team of student archaeologists last spring that worked on a site at the Memorial Union. "I got to see a small picture of what life was like on campus 100 years ago and how things have changed over that period of time."
