"Being out there was great on-the-job training."

Nathan Forsythe had barely started his master's work in geology when he soon found himself in a remote section of Fiji for three weeks. Each day he would make the journey from his base camp in a Fijian city to a location in the mountains to map a prospective gold mine. As part of a project for Alcaston Mining, Nathan took core samples for possible gold mining and will provide analysis on those samples. "I'm very interested in the exploration part of the project. It was a good opportunity to see how things are done out in the field."
