meteorology, 1970 & 1973 charlie notis meteorology, 1972 Graduate school friendship develops into career path for meteorologists. While graduate students, Harvey Freese and Charlie Notis talked often of striking out on their own and creating their own weather forecasting service. Freese Notis Weather is now one of the most respected private forecasting companies in the world providing services to clients worldwide for the past 30 years from their offices in Des Moines. And while their company has expanded in recent years, the two maintain their close personal friendship they had as graduate students at Iowa State. "I would compare it to a marriage," Charlie says. "There has always been a lot of give and take." |
