The shyest kid in the
class turns up daily on national TV.
Cheryl Lemke never imagined herself on television, broadcasting to millions
on a daily basis. Instead Cheryl's professional dreams were focused on working
for the National Weather Service. But federal cutbacks made jobs hard to come
by, so Cheryl decided to reinvent herself. Internships at Des Moines TV stations
provided valuable assistance, as did her first job at the CBS affiliate in Terre
Haute, Indiana. These days however you can see Cheryl nationally on The Weather
Channel. "It's a weathercaster's dream. I work with 100 people with degrees
in meteorology with the best high tech equipment."
