"What’s most engaging about my job is that I get to help people who have that burning desire to go into deep debt to make a film."

As the chief executive officer of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), Bill Lindstrom hobnobs with Hollywood big shots. He has traveled throughout the West with Kevin Costner. He has made friends and professional associations with individuals throughout the motion picture industry. And he does it from the very un-Hollywood like setting of Cheyenne, Wyoming. "This is not a very large industry but I have gotten to know a great number of people. That has enabled me to help productions get going and get completed." Bill did that first as the state film commissioner in Iowa and Wyoming. Now as the CEO of AFCI, he assists film, television and video productions throughout the world. "Film production is a very important economic development tool for many governments. My job is to educate how best to do that."
