journalism and mass
communication "It's a corny beat to have, but I'm proud of what I've done." "American Idol." The show everyone loves - except maybe if you were a serious journalist. That's the case with Corey Moss, a senior writer and producer for MTV News, who regularly covers the hit reality television show. "I like reporting on the show because not a lot of writers cover it the way it should be done. No one else has done what I've done, looking for smart angles on stories about the contestants." Corey has found himself interviewing stars on the red carpet or talking to star after star during a movie junket. "Those are hard interviews. You only have five minutes with an actor and it doesn't allow you to build any type of rapport with them. I try to have a good conversation with them and not ask a lot of bad questions – things that I learned at Iowa State." |
