Randall Wreighitt

journalism and communication
1978

Iowa Boy on the Great White Way.

Randall Wreighitt has become fixture on Broadway through his Iowa Boy Productions company. And with his latest production of a Broadway musical "Grey Gardens," it's a good chance that a Randall Wreighitt show will be playing in New York City for years to come.

His shows have also been met with wide-spread acclaim both on- and off-Broadway. Randall has produced such Tony Award-nominated dramas as "The Beauty Queen of Leenane," "The Lonesome West," "Metamorphoses," "Hedda Gabler," "Golda's Balcony" and his recent production of "The Lieutenant of Inishmore." In 2001 he received a Tony Award for Best Revival for producing "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next" starring Gary Sinese.

And "Grey Gardens" received three Tony Awards including Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for 2007.

And his first foray into musical theatre was a hit as well. "Little Women: The Musical" was Tony nominated and played throughout the country on a one-year national tour.
