African Studies Forum


Africa

The African Studies Forum (ASF) is an informal body of Iowa State University faculty, administrators, staff and students (undergraduates and graduates) who share a common interest in Africa. It is a forum for the exchange of ideas and perspectives deriving from research and teaching about, and travels to, Africa.

Membership is open to all Iowa State University faculty, administrators, staff and students who are either researching, and/or studying Africa, and anyone with a general interest in Africa.

Mission: To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and perspectives among scholars interested in Africa

Goals

  1. To promote informed knowledge of the complexities of Africa
  2. To serve as valuable resource on Africa for ISU community and Ames at large
  3. To promote educational and cultural activities that would promote understanding of the historical and contemporary challenges of Africa
