Olga Romantsova

Olga Romantsova is a postgraduate student in Theory of Culture and Philosophy of Science Department at Kharkiv National University, Kharkiv, Ukraine. She graduated from Kharkiv National University in Psychology (honors diploma) in 2000. Since 2002, she has been working in the Kharkiv Center for Gender Studies as program assistant and coordinator of postgraduate seminar on gender studies, and oversaw the publication of volumes 1 and 5 of History of Women in the West In 5 Vols., Georges Duby and Michelle Perrot, general eds., translated from English and published by the Center. Since 2004 she has been the moderator of the Center’s informational mailing list. Her research interests include philosophy of gender, modern philosophical anthropology, identity and subjectivity studies, politics of identity, gender theories, feminist theory, and modern social movements and practices. Her publications are in specialized journals. For the Gender Studies Journal she did reviews of the following editions: Providing for equality of sexes: policy of countries of Western Europe, ed. F. Gardiner, in Gender Studies ¹ 9, 2003; and of Tamara Gundorova, Femina Melancholica: Sex and culture in gender utopia of Olga Kobilyanskaya (Kyiv: Criticism, 2002), in Gender Studies ¹ 12 , 2004 .
