Western European Studies Undergraduate Essay Prize


  • The Western European Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences invites undergraduate students at Iowa State University to submit essays dealing with Western Europe. The essay topic is open, and could involve any aspect of contemporary or historical European culture, literature, politics, economics, philosophy, etc. Essays should be a minimum of five typed pages, double-spaced.

    Prizes for the best essay will be awarded in the following manner: $150 for first place, $100 for second, and $50 for third place. Winners will be recognized publicly and on the Western European Studies Program‚s website.
