Julie Snyder-Yuly
Program Coordinator

Julie Snyder-Yuly earned her B.S. in psychology from the University of Iowa and a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies focusing on communication studies, industrial technology (training and development) and sociology from Iowa State University. Her thesis on harassment prevention training received an Iowa State University Research Excellence Award. She will be working with the Women's Studies majors and minors, serving as the public relations coordinator, and assisting with events planning.

She is a former Women's Studies teaching assistant for WS201 and currently teaches "Leadership styles and strategies in a Diverse Society." In addition, she co-teaches "Leadership, personal and professional explorations for women." Her research interests include body image, women in the media, sexual harrassment/assualt issues, and leadership. She recently co-authored "Any Four Black Men Will Do: Rape, Race, and the Ultimate Scapegoat" which received a top 4 paper award at Western States Communication Association and will be published in the May 2007 issue of the Journal of Black Studies.
