Learning Outcomes

The Department offers majors in Physics and Applied Physics. The intended outcomes are the same. We expect our graduates to be proficient in the methods of rigorous scientific analysis, relevant mathematical techniques, and modern computational and laboratory methods. They should have a broad knowledge of physics, including mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics and modern physics. They should be able to communicate clearly and effectively at the general and technical levels.

Measures

Measures include examinations, problem assignments and written laboratory report designed to demonstrate mastery of the concepts and techniques that form the intended learning outcomes. Additional measures include first employment after completing degree.
