2005 LAS Alumni Awards

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and its academic departments recognized alumni during Homecoming 2005 Oct. 21-22.

LAS recognized five outstanding alumni with awards, while seven academic departments honored alumni from their academic disciplines.

In addition, four graduates with LAS degrees were recognized by the ISU Alumni Association.

LAS hosted a dinner on Friday, Oct. 21, for its honorees in the Scheman Building. A recognition ceremony was held afterwards.

  • Douglas Van Houweling ('65 Government) is the inaugural recipient of the John V. Atanasoff Research and Discovery Award from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

    Van Houweling is the CEO and President of Internet2/University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development and a professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan.
