Baur Robert F. Baur After graduating from Iowa State with a degree in mathematics, Robert Baur returned home to Madison County to run the 4,000-acre family farm. As the farm prospered Baur began to spend more time in voluntary activities, including the Iowa Republican Party. In 1984, he became the party's state finance chair and two years later directed the reelection campaign for Sen. Charles Grassley. He has also served on numerous boards, including Living History Farms and the Benton Bank and Trust in Adel. He has served as chair of the Iowa Communications Network and is a member of Gov. Culver's Council of Economic Advisors. In 1995 Baur moved to Principal Financial in Des Moines, where he remains to this day. His responsibilities have grown from research analysis to serving as managing director of an international portfolio to heading global trading with a portfolio currently valued at $265 billion and a client list that includes half of the 25 largest pension funds in the country. Just last February Baur was promoted to chief global economist of PrincipalGlobal Investors. His job now encompasses responsibility for all economic analysis at Principal, including forecasts, reports, and presentations to client groups. ![]() Mark Stavish Mark E. Stavish Prior to creating Evergreen Partners, Stavish served as America Online's (AOL) executive vice president of human resources for seven years. At AOL, he was responsible for ensuring the company's human resource, facilities, and security operations supported AOL's business strategy and direction. During his tenure, AOL accomplished stunning business growth: revenue growth from $100 million to $9 billion; member growth from 1.5 million to 35 million; and employee growth from 700 in two locations to 18,000 in 146 locations in 40 different counties. In addition to his experience at AOL, Stavish spent more than eight years at Pepsi-Cola, where he was responsible for human resource activities in several of Pepsi's regional and headquarters business units. He began his professional career at Mobil Oil in a variety of human resources roles. Stavish serves as a director on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards and is a past chairman of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce. |
