Dean's Advisory Council
Member Job Description

Members of Iowa State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Dean’s Advisory Council will assist the College in the following ways:

• Attend Council meetings;
• Be informed about the mission, programs, and activities of the College;
• Help the College establish mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals and corporations;
• Actively participate in the College's fundraising efforts, including making personal commitments to the College’s annual fund and/or campaign priorities;
• Assist the Dean on issues pertaining to the College by determining the information needs of the community and region;
• Advise the Dean in an ongoing assessment of the current and future environment of the diverse academic offerings of the College with an emphasis on how the College can respond with its mission of "learning," "discovery" and "engagement";
• Review agenda and supporting materials prior to Council meetings;
• Following Iowa State University's policies on fundraising, confidentiality and conflict of interest;
• Represent the College to the Iowa State University community;
• Advise departments in the College on occupational and career trends.
