Experiential Learning

There are many excellent experiential learning opportunities that may include a formal employment setting, service learning or volunteer work. Some experiential learning may meet criteria as an internship/co-op through Iowa State University. This does not mean that others are less valuable in your overall career preparation.

Internship/Co-op Criteria:

  • Provides a meaningful, challenging career experience with identified learning objectives
  • Includes training and supervision with performance evaluation

There are four basic internship/co-op course options, each of which can help maintain your student status at ISU.
