Catt Center for Women and Politics

Founded in 1992, the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics provides leadership development and educational opportunities for women and men interested in politics and public service.  Our programs blend the resources and scholarship of the academic environment with the actual experiences of individuals in the public and private sectors.

The Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics serves thousands of women and men of all ages each year through its programs, events and activities. More than 150 Iowa State students pursuing degrees in a variety of academic majors participate annually in the Center’s scholarship, mentorship and leadership development programs.

The Center honors Carrie Chapman Catt – one of Iowa State’s most distinguished alumni – and a leader of the U.S. woman suffrage movement, founder of the League of Women Voters, crusader for international peace, and an advocate for the expansion of women’s rights throughout the world. The Center is located in Carrie Chapman Catt Hall, which is also home to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University.
