Interdisciplinary Studies Major
(Criminology and Criminal Justice)


The major requires a minimum of 36 credits numbered 200 or above with at least 6 credits that are numbered 400 or above. An average grade of C or better must be earned in 15 credits at the 300 level or higher, as well as in the overall major. An additional 7 credits are required in complementary courses.

Existing course offerings include Deviant and Criminal Behavior, Youth and Crime, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Philosophy of Law, American Judicial Process, Forensic Anthropology, Criminology, Topics in Crime and Justice, Abnormal Psychology, Law and Politics, and many more.

New courses in policing, corrections, and white-collar crime are being offered for academic year 2006-2007.

Double Major/Double Degree with Sociology

Double Major. Students who wish to double major in Sociology and Interdisciplinary Studies (Criminology and Criminal Justice) must complete the required and complementary courses for both majors and have 15 credits in each major that is not being applied in the other.

Double Degree. Students who wish to earn a double degree in Sociology and Interdisciplinary Studies (Criminology and Criminal Justice) must complete the required and complementary courses for both majors and earn a total of at least 150 credits.
