Academic Recogntion Events

Multicultural Student Services

Each semester the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences publicly recognizes LAS minority students who have earned a 3.00 term and/or cumulative grade point average the previous term.

The events are to celebrate the students' accomplishments, to connect them with faculty and staff who can further guide their academic development, and to encourage them to continue their achievements. The events focus on a group of related majors within the college. Invited guests include students' academic advisers, their department chairs, and special support staff from around the campus.

The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences addresses the students and presents each student with a certificate. A register of all of the students who received this recognition is available in 102 Catt Hall along with a plaque listing students who have earned a 3.9 cumulative grade point average or higher.
