Biophysics
An intensive and broad training in the wide range of natural sciences that pertain to understanding how living systems operate await you when you major in biophysics at Iowa State University. Courses in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and computer science will be a part of your curriculum, which has the flexibility to also emphasize laboratory training. By the time you are a junior or senior biophysics major, you will be encouraged to work as an undergraduate research assistant in a faculty member’s laboratory, developing skills that will remain with you in your post-undergraduate career. A wide variety of career opportunities are available to biophysics graduates in most biological, biophysical or physical science fields where a broad preparation in natural sciences is needed.
