Communications Programs
Discover communications majors at Iowa State University with opportunities in journalism, advertising, speech communications, technical communications and communications studies. The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication offers hands-on experience to students. Whether it's as a writer or photographer for the Iowa State Daily or on the set of a real television program, you will get the experience necessary to land that first job out of college. Our students have internships across the nation - from MTV in New York City to reporting on the nation's political news in Washington, D.C., to right down the road at Meredith, one of the nation's leading magazine publishers. Advertising students can design ad campaigns for actual clients in our student-run advertising agency. Examine the great orators in Speech Communication or study computational analysis in Linguistics. A degree in English with an emphasis in Rhetorical Studies can lead to careers in business communication, scientific writing and many other fields. Technical Communication will prepare you for positions in health care, engineering and the environmental sciences. Learn about nonverbal communication and conflict management in our Communication Studies program. |
