Liberal Studies

Can't decide what major you want to pursue at Iowa State University? Then maybe a degree in the Bachelor of Liberal Studies is for you.

BLS students pick three areas of study to focus on instead of a traditional major. Maybe you want to study speech, English and linguistics. Or how about accounting, journalism and management? You can do that with the Bachelor of Liberal Studies program at Iowa State.

The BLS is ideal not only for students with multiple interests but also for students who wish to combine classes from the other Regents universities (the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa) as well as Iowa community colleges.

And BLS students find employment after graduation. Our graduates in this program are employed in a wide variety of settings and gain admission to graduate and professional schools as well.
