Pre-Health Professional

If you want to attend medical school you don't major in premed at Iowa State University. Same thing, if you want to explore your interests in nursing, dentistry or pharmacy after graduating with your bachelor's degree.

Iowa State offers premedical and preprofessional health programs designed for students like you who are preparing for admission to medical school and professional schools in medically related fields.

And you don't need a biology degree to be admitted to medical school. Many now prefer psychology and philosophy majors because they have been taught how to relate to people. The science can come later for you.

Whatever health-related area you wish to study, Iowa State can individually tailor your coursework to fit the admission requirements of the professional school you wish to apply to.
