Here are a few interesting facts about the prelaw program at Iowa State University.
Iowa State offers courses that will assist you in developing the skills, values and knowledge that are essential to become a competent attorney. Appropriate skills include logical reasoning, critical thinking, debate, persuasion, advanced writing, research, and listening and communication skills. You should explore coursework that looks at societal morals and values necessary for developing cultural awareness and appreciation. To help you in that preparation there is a prelaw class available to all juniors and seniors. In this class, you will be provided with the information regarding law school preparation, law-related careers, the role of an attorney, the role of a law professor/law school student in a law school classroom and a greater perspective of more popular fields of law. If you don't want to wait until you are a junior to take this course, join the Prelaw Club. This student organization brings in local attorneys and representatives of area law schools.
