2008 Ambassadors Profile
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Why I chose Iowa State: I chose Iowa State because of its high academic reputation and friendly campus. During my campus visit, I felt the faculty and students were welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. It also helped that Iowa State has one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation.
What I like best about ISU: I don't feel like just a number here. Although ISU is a large university, the faculty and staff are always willing to answer questions and go out of their way to help students. If I ever have questions, there's always someone willing to answer them or point me in the right direction.
Favorite ISU tradition: My favorite tradition is Iowa State football! I love going to the games and being surrounded by ISU fans – especially when everyone pulls their keys out for the kickoff or when everyone sings the ISU fight song together. The best game so far was Iowa State vs. Iowa in 2007 at Jack Trice Stadium. It was so fun being able to rush the field and celebrate the win!
My goals after graduating from ISU: I hope to attend graduate school for counseling somewhere on the West Coast.
Something I didn't expect I'd do at ISU: It has been so easy for me to get involved. The university has so many opportunities for students – in and outside of the classroom. From research to student organizations, ISU has something for everyone to enjoy.
