2008 Ambassadors Profile
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Why I chose Iowa State: My dad went here and it had a great journalism program. I wanted to go out of state but realized that Iowa State would be a great opportunity to be away from home, but close enough that I wouldn't feel overwhelmed. Ames is such a great town, too.
What I like best about ISU: I love the campus. It's beautiful and even though it's huge, it has a small feel to it. I also love the sense of community that Iowa State has to offer.
My ISU activities: I worked at the Iowa State Daily for four semesters. It was a great opportunity to get hands-on experience designing a really professional publication.
My goals after graduating from ISU: I want to continue my education through pursuing a master's degree, although I have no idea where. After that, I would like to design magazine layouts or textbooks. Eventually, I would like to get my Ph.D. and become a professor or go to seminary and be a pastor.
Favorite place to eat in Ames: I absolutely love Jeff's Pizza. There is nothing better than ordering their smotherella sticks (cheese pizza without the sauce with a variety of interesting dipping sauces) at 1 a.m. with six of my best friends and sitting in our dining room, stuffing our faces and telling goofy stories.
Something I didn't expect I'd do at ISU: I joined a sorority. It is honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can't imagine my college experience without the women I have met and the memories I have made through being a member of the Greek community.
