LAS Diversity Award
Purpose: To recognize faculty and staff who have advanced the College’s vision for diversity through their teaching, scholarship, service, or campus-community outreach.
Eligibility: A tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenure eligible faculty or a full- or part-time staff member of any of the College’s administrative units or departments who has been a member of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for at least one year.
Criteria: Documented evidence of promoting a campus environment where faculty, staff, and students of all genders, ages, cultures, races, nationalities, religions, sexual orientations, and abilities can work and learn together, including demonstrated support of one or more of the College’s priority concerns for diversity. These include recruiting and retaining diverse faculty staff and student populations, improving the quality of the university environment for diverse populations, advancing the curriculum for providing the knowledge and skills needed to function as global citizens.
Number of awards: A $500 award is granted each year, while the College reserves the right not to grant an award in any given category during any year.
