As director of communications for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dave oversees the public relations and events activities of the college. He is the co-editor for Around LAS, the bimonthly LAS faculty/staff newsletter, and editor of Around LAS Alumni, the twice-a-year college alumni magazine. He also oversees all LAS events, media relations and web site content.

Dave joined the staff in 1999 after 12 years as Northwest Missouri State University's director of news and information and two years as the director of college relations at Central College in Pella, Iowa. He is a 1980 and 1985 (master's) graduate of Northwest.

He is a member of the ISU Alumni Association's Board of Directors, completing a three-year term in 2007-08 as the appointed representative of all Iowa State academic colleges.
