LAS International On-Line is the bi-monthly on-line publication of the International Programs of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. LAS International is part of LAS' on-going efforts to coordinate all aspects of international activities within the College including international studies, study abroad, exchange agreements, research and outreach.

Events
INTERNATIONAL DINNER - The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is hosting its second annual International Programs Dinner on Monday, March 1, in the Scheman Building beginning at 6 p.m.
During the program, LAS will honor the College’s past Fulbright Scholars and International Service Award recipients.

In addition, recipient of the LAS Award for Distinguished International Service will be announced. This award recognizes faculty members for outstanding international service in terms of teaching, research or administration, within the United States or abroad.

For more information on the LAS International Programs Dinner contact Dave Gieseke at 294-7742 or dgieseke@iastate.edu.

Internships
INTEL - Intel offers both summer and co-op internships for students in four-year college programs.
The paid summer internships give four-year college students hands-on opportunities to contribute to challenging projects, network with Intel professionals and learn from real-world experiences. Students who participate in these internships are recommended not to take daytime summer courses.

Intel's co-op internships are designed for four-year college students who want to work more than 12 weeks while maintaining their college schedules.

Additional information on the Intel internship programs can be obtained at http://www.intel.com/jobs/USA/Students/Internships/fouryear.htm

Inter-American Dialogue - The Inter-American Dialogue offers full and part-time volunteer internships in the fall, spring and summer semesters for students interested in inter-American relations. The Dialogue is a forum for sustained exchange among leaders of the Western Hemisphere and an independent, non-partisan center for policy analysis on economic and political relations in the Americans.

A minimum of eight 16 to 20-hour weeks is required during the fall and spring semesters. Summer interns usually work full-time. The deadline for summer internships is March 1 with Aug. 1 the fall internship deadline. Nov. 15 is the spring semester deadline date.

Additional information on the Inter-American Dialogue internships is available at http://www.thedialogue.org.
