  • Funds established for Fritz lecture

  • Kent ('58 psychology) and Linda Fritz have established two funds in the Department of Psychology at Iowa State University.

The inaugural Kent Fritz Lecture in Psychology was held April 22, 2004 and featured Nancy Betz, professor of psychology at Ohio State University. She spoke on "Studies of Career-Related and Social Self-Efficacy Expectations."

With an estate gift of $1 million, the Fritzes have also created the Martin F. Fritz Endowed Chair in Psychology. This gift is being given in honor of Kent Fritz's father Martin, a professor of psychology at Iowa State from 1927-68. He was also director of the ISU Counseling Service from 1956-68.

For many years, Martin Fritz conducted a weekly radio program on WOI covering psychological topics for the general public.

After graduating from Iowa State, Kent Fritz earned a Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He taught and conducted research for many years at Ohio Wesleyan University and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife Linda currently reside in Madison.
