Study abroad for a semester in
Cuervavaca, Mexico

The City and the Region
Cuernavaca (pop. 500,000) is known internationally as the "City of Eternal Spring", boasting year round temperatures of 75 to 80 degrees F. It is a resort city and capital of the state of Morelos, 75 kilometers (50 miles) south of Mexico City. Acapulco beaches are only 3.5 hours away by bus.
Room and Meals
Students share a room in a Mexican host family home in Cuernavaca, and three meals per day are provided: a full breakfast, a full lunch (or box lunch, upon request for excursions or optional afternoon classes), and a light evening meal. Students may request a single room for an additional charge. If for any reason housing accommodations are not acceptable, students can be moved to another family.

Academics
The Center for Linguistic and Multicultural Studies/CLMS at the Universidad Internacional (UNINTER) is a private higher education institution that offers intensive language and culture classes in four and six week blocks. Students can earn from 12 to 16 credits during the semester; 6 to 12 credits per summer. Class sizes are small, often with only five students, providing for individual attention to maximize language learning. Students receive direct ISU credit for the following Spanish language courses.

Internships are available in Business, Criminal Justice, Education, Hotel/Restaurant Management, and Social Work. Students must apply prior to departure for one credit.

Cost
The program fee includes UNINTER tuition and fees, orientation, room and meals, and excursions (four/semester; two/summer).
Not included are:
* airfare, incidentals and individual travel
* designated ISU tuition and fees
Estimated program fee for Spring 2008 and Fall 2008 is $4500. Summer program fee for 6-week option is about $2500 and 8-week option is about $3200. Please see program director in the Study Abroad Center for a detailed program budget.
Financial Aid
Most students remain eligible for their current financial aid. In addition, students may be eligible for additional student and/or parent loans and/or scholarships.
