Approved by the Board of Regents in 2003, the Institute of Science and Society at Iowa State University involves more than 90 faculty members from 26 academic departments and seven colleges on campus. The Institute encourages interdisciplinary working groups on a number of issues related to science and technology including environmental issues, science communication and ethical issues.
