Dorathy E. Chase

Nevada, IA

Brick Section G - Row 8

Dorathy spent her life doing for others. She never knew a stranger. She worked at Iowa State and was a very big fan too!. Here is a poem Ruth Larson, from the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, wrote in memory of Dorathy.

In Memory of
"Dorathy"

Her willing hands have left us,
But we shall not forget
The many helpful things they did
The tasks they dutifully met.

Her friendly smile has faded

But - how could we forget,
It's engraved in memory of everyone
As though she was with us yet.

Her infectious laugh is silent
But who - just who could forget?
It echoes everywhere in her beloved town
It's silence we all regret.

Her loving heart is quiet,
But no one will ever forget
The kindness it gave to everyone,
With jewels of tenderness it surely was
set.

Our Dorathy is gone from among us,

But, dear God, we will never forget
That You gave us the chance to know her.
Help us follow the example she set. 2/4/95
