As a single parent, my Mom raised my sister and me to the best of her ability. She provided us with everything we needed to be comfortable even if it meant working seven days a week. Even though she worked long hard hours, she always made time for us. She also was sure to tell us how much she loved us everyday. My Mom taught me to be independent and to stand up for what I believed in. She also showed me to believe in myself and go after what I wanted - even if it seemed out of reach. She is not only my Mom but my best friend, and most of all my heroine. 2/13/95
