Patricia A. Pearson

Pat Pearson is honored for her service to Iowa State University and the Ames community. Pat retired in 1987 after being on the staff of Iowa State for almost 25 years; she taught English for over 22 years. Throughout her teaching career she worked with her students to convince them that they were good communicators and she could help them to be better. She was usually successful. Throughout her teaching career and since her retirement Pat has supported and promoted the rights of women. She has given generously of her time and resources
to a number of organizations in the community that support these rights. Pat has always balanced these service commitments with a number of creative hobbies such as growing plants, arts and crafts projects, painting, and sewing. This is in addition to raising three children and enjoying eight grand children. 1/28/95
