Zora Opal Alexander

Pilot Mound, Iowa

Brick Section A - Row 10

ZORA OPAL THOMPSON was born on a farm near Pilot Mound, Iowa, on September 5, 1904. She lived in the central Iowa area until her death on February 21, 1993.

On June 14,1933, she married Albert M. Alexander and together they made a home and raised 2 children during hard economic and war times.

During her married life she was primarily a homemaker but she also worked as a bookkeeper for several companies. She handled both tasks well (giving parental guidance and being a bookkeeper) because she was very organized and precise.

Her hobbies included flower and vegetable gardens as well as being active in church. She always kept her gardens as neat as a pin and was very proud of them. They were always ablaze with blooms, especially the roses.

Her name is placed in the honor register by her husband of almost 60 years - Albert Alexander - and her two children: Patricia M. Rodick and Garry J. Alexander and their families.

Because of her life, she made a difference in all of our lives and thus should be honored in this very special and timely way. 7/1/96
