She graduated with a double major in Food Technology and Agricultural Journalism and in the Agriculture Honors Program in 1983, and in 1984 earned the master's degree in Food Technology. She completed her doctorate in Food Science at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul in 1988. She then joined General Mills, Inc. as a Research

She has demonstrated superior scholarship, leadership and creativity as a student and teacher, and as a professional scientific employee. Colleagues, mentors, and scientific supervisors, alike, have recognized
her excellent qualities and she has responded with dedication, commitment and service. Her performance reflects well on her Alma Mater and her family.
