Accomplishments at Iowa State University:
Member of Mortar Board; President of Phi Upsilon Omicron, Home Economics Honorary; President of Home Economics Education Club; Treasurer of Pi Beta Phi Sorority; "I" Award for outstanding freshman woman athlete; member of Naiads, synchronized swim club, and Women's "I" Fraternity.

After teaching Physical Education in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, served as Camp Fire Leader and chair of Camp Fire Girls Outdoor Program Committee, while raising two daughters. Later worked at Iowa State Vocational Rehabilitation Center, evaluating handicapped clients in personal living skills and vocational skills.

In 1976, married Dr. Maynard Ukena and moved to Ames. Interests here have been centered on golf, dance (ballroom and tap dancing) and travel. 7/1/96
