For her love and dedication to education, and its power to enhance the growth of others. For teaching writing skills to hundreds of students at all levels in ways that improves their lives. Julie has been a teacher in an elementary school (Alexandria, MN), high schools (New Hampton, Story City, and Huxley, IA), a private boarding school (American School in Switzerland, Lugano), and the university (University of Iowa). She has been an effective tutor for the Athletic Department at the University of Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University in English Education and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Her work toward the PhD degree in English Education at the University of Iowa has made important contributions to the educational process. 2/14/95
