Judy McDonough Haggard

Brick Section A - Row 2

Born: April 8, 1938, Odebolt, Iowa

She attended the University of Northern Iowa and taught First Grade for five years in Cherokee, Iowa, from 1958 to 1963, when she began teaching First Grade at Beardshear School in Ames. She also taught at Harlan, Sawyer, and Northwood Schools. She was appointed as Principal of Edwards School in 1982 and subsequently served as Principal of Roosevelt, Meeker, and Kate Mitchell Elementary Schools. She retired from the Ames Community Schools in 1995. Her independence of thought and spirit matched
if not exceeded that of my mother, Marjorie Swisher Haggard, who was immensely fond of her for this and for many other reasons. We were married on June 2, 1974, and together we raised two children, Ethan Harrison Haggard, and Frederick Curtis Haggard. 2/17/95
