Annabelle Irwin

Annabelle Bowen was born in Peterson, Iowa and received her undergraduate degree from Morningside College. She did graduate work at Columbia University and the State University of Iowa. She and her husband Keith Irwin established a home in Lake View, Iowa; they are the parents of four children--Jane, Ann, Rees and Sara.

Annabelle taught in public schools, Midwestern College, Buena Vista, and Iowa State University from which she retired Emeritus in 1985.

She is the author of various magazine articles, two plays and an adolescent fiction book. With Bernice Reida, she has published two text books and two novels dealing with Iowa history. For the past several years, with Lee Hadley, (Hadley Irwin) she has published fourteen books for young adults. 7/1/96
