WE ARE HONORING YOU WITH THIS TRIBUTE BECAUSE WE NOTICED It was courageous to go to school so far from home and a true accomplishment to get a college degree for a woman of your generation. BECAUSE WE LISTENED We did hear all the great things you said, and we do appreciate all the pride and value you have always placed in your college experience at Iowa State University. BECAUSE WE APPRECIATE · the sacrifices you made to stay home and raise three daughters · the encouragement you gave us to take advantage of the opportunities around us and for instilling in us the importance of independence and education. · the fact that you NEVER ONCE said we should not or could not aspire to accomplish something or become somebody because we were women.
