Susan Kretschmar Sargent, the 2nd daughter of Ina and Alfred was born September 28, 1948. She was an outstanding 4-H member and also won the Leadership trip. She received her B.S. degree in Education from Iowa State University in 1970 and is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She sang in Stars Over Veishea in 1969 and 1970. She married Philip B. Sargent, an Ames resident and also an Iowa State University graduate, on July 17, 1970. They have three children and she is business administrator for a Kitchen Design Studio. They reside
