Susan (Seidel) Zawacky was born November 24, 1949 in St. Paul, MN and grew up in Ames. She was awarded a B.S. from ISU in 1972 with a major in Chemistry Curriculum, and in 1979 she received a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Stanford University.
In 1976 she married Steven Zawacky. The Zawackys lived in Palo Alto, CA until 1983, when they moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where they have resided ever since.
Susan has taught science (mostly chemistry) at the high school level since 1977, and at Sewickley Academy since 1984. In Pittsburgh she has been active in the ACS Education Group (the Pittsburgh area high school chemistry teacher association) and the Society for Analytical Chemistry in Pittsburgh.
Other favorite activities include teaching Sunday School, reading, and electronics. 5/17/95 |
