Deanna Waters, year of 1963, Mortar Board, Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications, with minors in Journalism, French and Child Development. Pi Beta Phi.
Deanna has shown qualities of leadership, persistence, compassion and creativity from her days at Iowa State on through her life. At Iowa State, together with her husband Dave, produced and directed two musicals for Stars Over Veisha. She starred in 'Born Yesterday", was a member of the Iowa State Singers and the contemporary dance troupe. She went on to play major roles at the outdoor professional theatre in Winnipeg, Canada.
Deanna’s career has been varied and challenging: Staff/Management Training Director, and Publications Editor for Eaton's of Canada, Pacific and Western Divisions ... Editor, Manitoba Business Journal...Public Relations Director, Manitoba Theatre Centre....Producer/Director, Trinity Television ...Corporate Communications Director, Palliser Furniture...Director of Marketing, Winnipeg Economic Development Corporation...Executive Director, Take Pride Winnipeg.
Through the years, Deanna has written lyrics for over 100 sacred songs, which have been performed on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's national television network. Her life was dramatically changed through the opportunity to write lyrics for a popular program called "Hymn Sing". Deanna's research led her to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She is the mother of two exceptional daughters, Michele MacBeath who has earned her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, and Marcie Waters, Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Music Therapy. Her husband David, year of ‘63 has collaborated on many projects with Deanna at university as well as professionally. He is now retired from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and is working in his own business with Deanna through a company called USANA. Together, they are helping people to improve their health and financial status. 7/1/96 |
