Ilene Marie Carlson was born in and lives in Ames, Iowa. She had religious training in the Lutheran Church, graduated from United Community High School and attended Iowa State University in the mid-sixties. Ilene has traveled widely in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean Islands, The Orient, Australia, and has special interest in England along with her husband Douglas. She has been associated with the Dairy Science Department of ISU for twenty three years. Ilene has been honored twice by having The Dairy Science Yearbook dedicated to her.
Her favorite pastimes are reading and doing
