Mary Flint Edson

Nashua, Iowa

Brick Section E - Row 26

Mary Flint Edson has been chosen to be honored because of her support and encouragement for her five daughters to pursue and complete advanced educational goals. Mary Edson became a school teacher at the age of 19 and taught in a rural school near Marble Rock and later at Nashua Community School in Iowa during the 1950's. As her family grew older, she imparted upon them the value of education and strength of character. Because of her guidance and support, all six children have been motivated to excel in their chosen fields as well as becoming involved in professional and community organizations.
