She has demonstrated a commitment to causes which promote the advancement of women. She is a strong advocate for social issues that affect the weakest members of our society. In 1988, Geleen graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Sciences and Humanitits where she majored in English.
